FORMULA:
Dexametasona 21 fosfato* 4mg.
Excipientes c.s.p 1 ml.
*Equivalente a Dexametasona base 3,33 mg/ml.
INDICACIONES: Afecciones inflamatorias agudas y crónicas del aparato locomotor de los equinos. Artritis, miositis, tendinitis, sinovitis, osteítis, osteoartritis. Shock, alergias, afecciones inflamatorias o edematosas de las vías aéreas. Colitis “X”. Hemoglobinuria. Fotosensibilización. Síndrome de desajuste neonatal.
DOSIFICACION: Equinos adultos: 10 a 40 mg. por día (equivale a 2,5 a 10 ml.) por vía intramuscular o endovenosa. En la terapia intraarticular o intrasinovial, la cantidad a inyectar dependerá del tamaño de la articulación. En el síndrome de desajuste neonatal la dosis es de 10 mg. cada 12 horas (equivalente a 2,5 ml.). Dado que es un medicamento de acción rápida su uso no debería extenderse por más de 5 días. Si es necesario continuar con el tratamiento, reducir la dosis gradualmente en días sucesivos.
CONTRAINDICACIONES: Animales con nefritis crónica, insuficiencia renal, insuficiencia cardíaca, hipertensión, predisposición a tromboflebitis. Osteoporosis y lesiones óseas extremas, procesos virales o micóticos, tuberculosis, úlcera gastroduodenal, úlcera de córnea y glaucoma. Hembras gestantes en el último tercio de la gestación. No administrar en forma paralela a ninguna vacuna.
PRECAUCIONES: Procesos infecciosos sin tratamiento antibacteriano adecuado. En tratamientos prolongados puede producirse retención de agua y sodio con pérdida de potasio, debilidad muscular, osteoporosis y retardo en la cicatrización. Se debe respetar la dosis indicada y administrar bajo supervisión del Médico Veterinario actuante. Cuando los tratamientos son prolongados, la dosis debe ir reduciéndose paulatinamente, evitando el estado de insuficiencia adrenal, debido a la inhibición de la secreción de corticotrofina hipofisiaria. Extremar las medidas de antisepsia en los casos de inyección intraarticular e intrasinovial.
DESTINADO A: Equinos deportivos.
No se administrará a equinos cuyo destino final pudiera ser el consumo alimentario humano.

PRESENTATION: Vials with 10, 50 and 100mL.
INDICATIONS: Acute and chronic inflammatory conditions of the locomotor system in horses. Arthritis, myositis, tendonitis, synovitis, osteitis, osteoarthritis. Shock, allergies, inflammatory or edema conditions of the airways. Colitis“X”. Hemoglobinuria. Photosensitivity. Neonatal maladjustment syndrome.
DOSAGE: Adult horses: 10 to 40 mg per day (equivalent to 2.5 to 10 mL) intramuscular or intravenous route. In the intra-articular or intra-synovial therapy, the amount to be injected will depend on the size of the joint. In the neonatal maladjustment syndrome, the dose is 10 mg every 12 hours (equivalent to 2.5ml). Since this is a fast-acting drug, it should not be used for more than 5 days. If it is necessary to continue with the treatment, gradually reduce the dose during the following days. This dose may be increased according to the acting of the professional in charge.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Animals with chronic nephritis, renal failure, heart failure, hypertension, predisposition to thrombophlebitis. Osteoporosis and severe bone lesions, viral or mycotic processes, tuberculosis, gastroduodenal ulcer, corneal ulcer and glaucoma. Pregnant mares in the last third period of pregnancy. Do not administrate at the same time with any vaccine.
PRECAUTIONS: Infections without an appropriate antibacterial treatment. In long treatments, water and sodium retention with loss of potassium, muscular weakness, osteoporosis and delay in healing may appear. The indicated dose should be followed and administered under the acting Veterinarian’s supervision. When treatments are long, the dose must be slowly reduced, avoiding the adrenal insufficiency status due to the inhibition of the hypophysis corticotropin secretion. Be extremely careful with antisepsis in cases of intra-articular and intra-synovial injections.
To be used in sport horses.
Do not administer to horses that might be used for human food consumption.
Keep out of the reach of children.
